What is audience targeting? Well, it simply means that you are targeting specific people to bring them to your website. For example, if you are targeting customers from the college crowd, you might have your company’s website focus on college life. Other variations would be selling products for children or catering to a specific client base such as a religious organization or an academic institution.
So, how do you find your target audience? How do you find people who are really interested in what you have to offer? It’s simple. Simply write down a list of names and email addresses of potential customers in general. Make sure you include the city and state as well.
Also, if you are using online advertising, such as Google AdWords, you can also use your “numbers” to your advantage. You simply choose which keywords you want to focus on. This will enable you to quickly set yourself apart from all the other websites out there. One word of caution, though. There are many, many people out there who will try to con you into signing up for their e-mail list. Do not fall for these.
