These two popular apps will be closed in India by the end of 2020
ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has announced that it is going to close two of its popular short video entertainment apps in India by October, Vigo Video and Vigo Lite.
The company made this information public through an online note and told that its information will be given to the users by ‘in-app notifications’. In addition, users will also be provided information about how to download their private data from the app or delete it forever.
Bytedance has also mentioned that he will use his energy and resources on other businesses. Let me tell you, the Chinese Internet company is giving the option to export the videos of Vigo users to TicTalk.
Like TikTok, the Vigo Video app allows users to watch short videos of other users without a username. However, just like TikTok here, users need to sign in to their personal Vigo account and existing Facebook / Gmail account to create upload, and like videos here. Vigo Lite also offers users the same service as Vigo Video, but as the name itself suggests, it is a weaker version of the Vigo Video app.
According to Google Play Store listings, Veego Video has been downloaded by 100 million people on their smartphones since 2017, while Veego Lite has been downloaded by more than 50 million users since the year 2018.
